MP_per_09 REFLECTIVE ONESELF is the third part of a larger project entitled 'Reflective Diary', and the second performance [first one] of a three.
The first part of the project 'Reflective Diary' was sound/light installation MP_ins_01 REFLECTIVE REALITY, and the second part of the project was exhibition MP_per_09 REFLECTIVE MIND.

Go to the presentation of the third performance MP_per_09 REFLECTIVE ONESELF_GZ.

M & P stood in the completely dark gallery, with their faces to the public. The performance began when the pre-edited sound tape started. The tape, with loud sound, presented the words that are used at the exhibited works MP_exp_10 REFLECTIVE MIND. The words were spoken at the beginning with gaps between them, rising to a great crescendo at the end of the performance. According to their own inner rhythm, and using wireless microphones, M and P expressed their intimate words to the rhythm of their faces being illuminated by hand-held battery lamps. The rhythm of MP's words and the words from the tape at the end of the performance created an extreme cacophony, where words became abstract, unrecognizable sounds... At the very end of the performance, over the sound of ironic laughter, M and P illuminated the faces of the audience with the powerful beams of the hand-held battery lamps.
The performance symbolically represented the reflection of present reality (as expressed by the words spoken by M and P at that particular moment of the performance) and external reality (as expressed by the pre-recorded on the tape). M and P were reflected in both realities, in both times, with their words… The rhythm of the illumination of their faces with blue light dramatically indicated the rhythm of the spoken words [both in reflective reality and reflective of (oneself) themselves]. A reflection of the reflection...
